Saudi Arabia’s Clean Energy Revolution: Vision 2030 and EU-KSA Strategic Cooperation in the Green Transition

Saudi Arabia is actively engaged in renewable energy generation since 2018. As of the end of 2024, the Kingdom’s operational renewable energy capacity reached approximately 6.5 GW. Throughout 2025, new contracts have been signed to develop an additional 15 GW of solar and wind projects, expected to become operational between 2027 and 2028, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s position as a regional leader in clean energy.
