On Tuesday 19 May, the European Chamber of Commerce in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (ECCKSA) convened its Energy Committee, graciously hosted at the EDF Offices in Riyadh.

Led by Committee Co-Chairs Omar AlDaweesh (CEO, EDF KSA) and Aziz Reguig (Managing Director, Fives Group), the session brought together industry leaders and EU representatives to outline the Committee’s strategic vision and upcoming workplan.

A major highlight of the meeting was a joint session with Mr. Matteo Fumerio from DG ENER (European Commission), as well as Mr. Timo Hammarén, Head of Trade Section at the EU Delegation to Saudi Arabia.

Exchanges focused on the high-level macro trends shaping the region. Members and institutional partners discussed energy export diversification, local industrial transformation, and the strategic role European technologies can play in supporting the Kingdom’s shift toward low-carbon industrial production.
